Issues concerning the intergenerational and cross-cultural transmission of cultural values are old but important themes. Especially in today’s globalized world, these issues weigh heavily on corporate society. Based upon fieldwork research, this session examines the kinds of issues that corporations face in order to transmit values and principles across generations or cultures and how they try to bridge the gaps between generations or cultures. This session intends to show real-world examples of issues and means in “successful” cases, and more importantly, in “failed” cases, although identification of success or failure is not so easy. The anthropological micro-level research and perspectives should help to clarify the complex intergenerational or cross-cultural “processes.”
