Call for Panels


IUAES 2015 now opens for panel submissions.

IUAES 2015 welcomes panel proposals pertaining to our main theme: “Re-imagining Anthropological and Sociological Boundaries”, with special focus on at least one of our sub-themes.

The deadline for submitting panel proposals is 30 September 2014 (00.00 GMT, 1 October 2014).

An announcement with all the accepted panels will be issued on 31 October 2014.

Registering to the IUAES 2015 Inter-Congress is not required for submitting panel proposals.

Panel proposals submission guidelines

  • All panel proposals must be submitted by the convenor(s).
  • All panel submissions must have a chair, and may additionally have a co-chair and/or a discussant. The chair, co-chair and discussant cannot be the same person. The convenor may act either as chair, as co-chair, or as discussant in the panel. The convener may also present a paper in the panel.
  • All panel proposals must include basic information about the panel.
  • All panel proposals must include a panel summary, which should exhibit a precise scholarly focus, a clear description of the overall purpose of the panel, as well as illustrate the perspective that is taken.
  • Proposals must be submitted in English.

Non-English panels

IUAES 2015 welcomes non-English panels, including those in Thai and other languages. Altogether these will constitute up to 10% of the total number of the panels. However, those who would like to submit panels in other languages than English would still have to submit panel proposals ONLY in English. The convenor(s) of respective panels should also provide English translation on the day to encourage multilingual dialogues.
